I have several years of experience teaching guitar. I have managed my own group of students off and on for many years, I spent two semesters teaching for the NIU Community School of the Arts, and currently I teach two days a week at Hix Brothers in Aurora. I have about 25 students, and I am always happy and willing to teach more. I am an excellent and highly qualified instructor and advisor regardless of your experience on the guitar. In addition to teaching guitar, I can also provide basic instruction for singing, bass guitar, and piano, and I highly recommend that students pursue a variety of approaches to music. My lesson rates are reasonable AND negotiable, and if you are interested in studying with me, please call or email to discuss specifics.

My methods mainly consist of teaching students to master the basic skills neccessary to create music. These involve, but are not limited to: improving your rhythm and technique, learning chords and scales, reading music, learning songs, ear training, improvisation, and proficiency across many styles of music.

I am a strong advocate of using technology to aid in the learning process, and I am currently in the process of exploring ideas like recording lessons for use between lessons, and using computer software to make practice more efficient and enjoyable.
